Volunteering

In keeping with our three cornerstones of, "Loving God, Loving Others and Serving,"  we as a Fellowship are going out into the community to help out wherever we can.
Our first venture was to volunteer at the Mustard Seed (a ministry to the homeless) with food preparation.  We helped by peeling vegies for salad, mashing potatoes and putting together Shepard's pies for 500!  It was a lot of fun as you can see by the pictures!  Following our volunteer time, we went out for supper and talked about what we had done; we all agreed that we had enjoyed ourselves and wanted to do it again.
If anyone would like to join us in volunteering, please feel free to contact us and we'll include you in our next venture.

"Camping" Party

Morgan, Serena and Shelby hamming it up in the tent.

Last night we had a "Camping" party for our Kids of Integrity and Club 68. The kids enjoyed identifying sounds they might hear while they were out camping, (owls hooting, the call of a loon, chopping wood, coyotes howling and a babbling brook) and also raced through an obstacle course. (trying not to drop the eggs off their plate!) For our snack, you guessed it, SMORES!

Don't drop the eggs, Jon!
Steady, Ashley!

C'mon Serena...you can do it!

And Trey is under the table!

We also learned about the "Weather Rock."  It is very inexpensive to make and is 100 % reliable for predicting what kind of weather you're in for. (sorry David Spence!)  Every morning upon exiting your tent you can easily see by looking at the rock, what kind of weather to expect that day, so you can plan your day accordingly.

If the rock is dry....you have good weather.
If the rock is wet...it's raining.
If the rock is swinging wildly from side to side...it's windy.
If you cannont see the rock...it is foggy.
If the rock is gone...there's been a tornado.
If the rock is white...it's snowing.

You get the picture...how many other weather conditions could you identify using the Weather Rock?  Drop me a note with your suggestions.  Thanks, that's all for now!
